Emmer Atta Roti / Chappati / Phulka / Poori / Paratha / Thepla / Bhakri

Emmer wheat Roti can be made like any other roti, combine the flour and salt according to your taste in a suitable big bowl, pour in the water slowly, mix the flour together until you get a soft and moist dough. Transfer it to a clean surface or platform and knead the dough for about 5 to 6 minutes until you get a smooth, pliable dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and allow to rest for anytime between 10 minutes to ½ an hour. Then roll it and make roti as your normal wheat flour roti. Similarly make poori, paratha or mix vegetables and make thepla.

Emmer Upma

EWB Marathi Khapli Gavachi Kheer

This is a sweet version of Emmer wheat and Barley, a good alternative to rice, made in Maharashtra as a traditional sweet dish. This is a perfect dish to be prepared in winter with goodness of wheat and warmth of Jaggery that helps in keeping our body warm. Emmer and Barley makes the sweet dishes also healthy to consume and even a Diabetic person can have a taste of it occasionally.

EWB Pongal

You can prepare healthy Emmer and Barley pongal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fiber rich Emmer and Barley pongal is prepared with moong dal lentils, ghee, cumin, peppercorns, curry leaves, and ginger. Studies say that eating at least a single serving of whole grains like the cracked wheat daily will lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure by nearly about 21 percent.

EWB Upma

Upma is a healthy breakfast choice and if you don’t like big flakes in your upma then just grind the EWB dalia in a mixer to your consistency. Then prepare it like regular upma with mustard seeds, ginger, curry leaves, chana daal, red chilly, asafoetida and ghee adding a pinch of lemon at the end. Enjoy the goodness of power grains.
